For decades, trans people have made history, forged resistance movements, and cultivated hope inthe cracks and at the edge of the university. In this talk, Zurn revisits his recent work tracking trans life at the Five Colleges in Massachusetts (Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and University of Massachusetts, Amherst). Drawing on official archives as well as over 100 interviews, he reflects on the powerful capacity that trans and gender disruptive/creative people have not only to change highered policies but also to cultivate a uniquely trans poetics on the ground.
